The Mattingly Bats (Don Mattingly's Bio & Hitting Tips) are baseball bats specifically designed to be baseball batting aids and baseball hitting aids. I introduced this bat to a local high school team and the feedback I received was nothing short of incredible - about half of the players did not know how to grip their bat correctly so it gave us a chance to discuss the right way to hold it. The players then each took turns with the Mattingly Beast Bat during BP and fell in love with it. The bat has a great trampoline effect built into it so balls tend to fly off it. The players were trying to figure out if the grip or the composite barrel was causing the ball to fly off the bat the way that it was. I left the bat with them for their season and will report back a couple of times to let everyone know how they are doing. In the end it did not matter what was causing them to hit the ball well, the fact that the kids were smashing the baseball had created quite a buzz around the team - Mission Accomplished!

I gave this bat to a local little league team to try out and I was moved by the feedback received. Only one or two of the players on the team had a high-quality bat so it was instantly well received by the team. The players then each took turns with the Mattingly Ripped Bat during batting practice and loved it for the fact that they were hitting the ball so well. I stayed to help the kids with their grip, which was fascinating to see how many held the bat incorrectly. After I showed them how to hold the bat and challenged each of them to hold their own bat in that manner they appreciated what a V-Grip can do for a swing. If you watch Don Mattingly in the videos he uses to describe the bats, he is seen holding a bat in his hands and flexing his wrists to get a feel for the bat in his hands. When I had the kids do this they each understood the right amount of pressure to hold the bat with (not a death grip). They all gave a small cheeer when I told them that I would give them the bat so their team could use it! It was great day!

Just like in my session with the local high school team, the bat was sending balls flying off of it because of the great trampoline effect it has constructed into it. The players were trying to figure out if the grip or the actual bat was causing the ball to fly off the bat the way that it was. I left the team that day with a nice smile on my face and can't wait to see these kids play a few more times this season.

Since these bats are moderately priced, I gave one to each of a few teams in our local little league baseball team to try out and I was thrilled with the feedback I received. This bat can help a player's swing dramatically by showing the player how to hold a bat properly. I gave a short demonstration to the team about some of the basics of the swing and focused my attention on the grip and the bat that I had in my hands - the V-Force. The players then each took turns swinging the V-Force and showing me their batting stance and swing mechanics. I stayed to watch batting practice and setup a couple of other soft-toss and hitting tee drills for the kids to do in addition to hitting off a coach pitching the ball, with each of the stations using a V-Force bat. It is hard to say exactly why but the kids had a great round of BP that day but the V-Grip was a big factor in it I am sure. I told the team they could keep the bats and they were thrilled. A couple of the parents came up asking me where they could get one for themselves - I love this job!
