I introduced this bat to a local high school team and the feedback I received was nothing short of incredible - about half of the players did not know how to grip their bat correctly so it gave us a chance to discuss the right way to hold it. The players then each took turns with the Mattingly Beast Bat during BP and fell in love with it. The bat has a great trampoline effect built into it so balls tend to fly off it. The players were trying to figure out if the grip or the composite barrel was causing the ball to fly off the bat the way that it was. I left the bat with them for their season and will report back a couple of times to let everyone know how they are doing. In the end it did not matter what was causing them to hit the ball well, the fact that the kids were smashing the baseball had created quite a buzz around the team - Mission Accomplished!
