Why I Love the
Grand Slam Pitching Machine
The Grand Slam Pitching Machine is the
best Wiffle Ball Pitching Machine available. This article explains why my kids
love the pitching machine and how they use it.
In a single word,
Fun! I love this machine because it
provides families the opportunities to own a machine that will have their kids
hitting balls all day long in the summertime. I have worked with my kids to teach them the proper
swing mechanics regarding how to hit a baseball, but all parents know that sooner
or later the kids have to be the ones who take the initiative to go out and
put in the work to become a great hitter. This wiffle ball pitching machine allows that to
happen.
The kids can
set the machine up on their own and start their own hitting sessions. This is a big deal for me because I am
not home during the day and we often have games during the evening during the
summer. I will try to leave work
early to get home to throw BP for them but it hard to do. The Grand Slam Machine gets them
hitting without me having to even bring it up to them.
It fires balls
at a high speed. My kids love the
challenge and typically have it turned up high all the time, they keep moving
the machine closer to home plate closer to increase the challenge.
It is a staple
of our neighborhood. Since the pitching
machine is easy to setup and tear down.
The kids from the neighborhood will come over and use it on their way to
the pool in the summer or they will all come over before a game to get some
swings in. The more they swing and
hit, the better they become.
It is
affordable. At less than $200 most
families can budget and afford to have the pitching machine in their
backyard.
It does not
require a batting cage. I know lots
of families who have batting cages in their backyard and teams who have them at
their ballfield. Many pitching machines require them because they
use hard balls or lite-flite ball. The Grand Slam Pitching Machine
uses small wiffle balls the size of a golf
ball and allows teams and families to enjoy it without spending
additional dollars on a batting cage.
To help it be a lot of fun, my kids
have invented a couple of games that I will share with you at Grand
Slam Pitching Machine Drills & Games
