Wall
Ball
To play
wallball, we divide the players into two teams, one team plays the field while
the other bats. A single is a hit ball that gets through the players on
the ground and makes it to the wall, a double hits the wall up to about 10 feet
high, a triple will hit the wall about 20 feet high and a home run will hit
about 30 feet high (very hard to do). We have markings on the wall in the
gym that we use so it is easy to tell where a hit is.
If a
player in the field does not field the ball cleanly it is an error and an
imaginary runner gets first base (we do not run the bases). This is a lot
like Home Run Derby that I used to play for hours each day as a kid. We
play three innings and then get to practice. It is competitive so the kids
love it and it gives everyone a chance to have fun prior to practice beginning.
The Slider Pitching Machine is right in the middle of the game,
chucking perfect pitches from about 35 feet away at a high speed.
We also use the
pitching machine for one of the batting practice stations during the
practice. I will hand feed the machine and each player gets 30 swings in a
rotation in just a few minutes time.
The Slider
Lite Pitching Machine is a versatile indoor pitching machine. Among lite
ball pitching machines the Slider Pitching Machine is very flexible and allows
us to use it in many games and drills. Click here to
